Iwata, Daniel Kiyoshi, 66, passed away on March 27, 2020 peacefully at the Hoag Presbyterian Hospital. Services are currently pending. He is survived by his wife, Jacquie Chester; daughter, Alexandra Chester-Iwata of New York; mother, Sakuye Iwata; sister, Sharon Muro and other relatives.

I was saddened to hear of Daniel's passing only yesterday (4/18/21). "Danny" and I were great childhood friends. He and his family were always so warm and welcoming to me. When I would go their house, I invariably left with flowers or a basketful of strawberries. Daniel and I shared a love for sports. He was an excellent athlete, smart, funny, and a true pal. I am blessed to have had him in my life during those early years. Rest in peace, Amigosan!
