I have been a friend of Dan's for about twenty years. We served together in Kodiak, and he was one of the best airplane mechanics I knew. You should know though, his forte was something much greater than turning a wrench - Dan was great at caring for people. As an ex-Coastie, lover of Alaska, and lover of classical music I wish we had known Daniel. His father has always had my deepest respect.

My sympathies and heart go out to Dan sr. and Barbara at the loss of their son Dan. I did not know young Dan, but spent many hours learning the ropes in the B-727 with Dan Sr., who is the ultimate professional in my recall. God Bless you and your family,

Dan and family,
I am very sorry to hear of your son's death. I can't imagine a worse thing to happen to a family than the death of a child. I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you.

My brother's name was Dan, he loved the outdoors, he was taken prematurely in a hiking accident, he also buried his beloved dog Winston one week before he died and so many more things were almost the same. I am so sorry for your loss but know that you are not alone and total strangers are thinking and praying...
