Daniel “Donnie B.” Johnson, 69, of Burnsville, Mississippi, died Friday, January 4, 2008, at Magnolia Regional Health Center - Corinth. He attended Brigman Hill Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of D.B. Johnson Construction Company and Johnson Leasing. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 9 PM on Saturday, January 05, 2008 and from 9 AM until 9 PM on Sunday, January 6 at Cutshall Funeral Home - Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM on Monday, January 7, 2008. The body will lie in state at the church for two hours prior to service time, at Brigman Hill Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Briggs King and Bro. Wayne Prince. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Bobby Riley, Tommy Newsom, Tony Rooney, Kris Walker, Brian Johnson, Heath Johnson, Stevie Johnson, and Jackie Hamm. Honorary Pallbearers include Adam Rooney, Doie Johnson, and Donnie Johnson, II. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Johnson of Burnsville, MS; 2 sons – Donnie C. “Bubby” Johnson (Mechelle) and Donald W. “PeeWee” Johnson (Nicki), both of Iuka, MS; 2 daughters – Pam Oliver (Curtis) and Tammy Rooney (Tony), both of Iuka, MS; 1 brother – Donald “Dunk” Johnson of Burnsville, MS; 2 sisters – Bonnie Horne of Burnsville, MS and Myrtle Hamm of Iuka, MS; 10 grandchildren – Britney Newsom (Tommy) of Iuka, MS; Donnie C. Johnson, II of Burnsville, MS; Kortney Rooney of Iuka, MS; Lacie Johnson of Iuka, MS; Doie Johnson of Iuka, MS; Kristopher Walker of Burnsville, MS; Chasity Johnson of Iuka, MS; Cebrina Johnson of Iuka, MS; Adam Rooney of Iuka, MS; and Haley Walker of Burnsville, MS; and 1 great grandchild, Ava Newsom of Iuka, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Deanyer and Annie Johnson; 3 brothers, Charles Avon Johnson, Bobby Harold Johnson, and Mose Johnson; 4 sisters, Alma Cooper, Nettie Johnson, Lula Dodson, and Ethel Phifer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN.
