Not sure what to say?

Every time I water my Japanese White Pine bonsai or bamboo groove that came from Dr. Kirk's gardener, Mr. Hiramoto, I think of him.

An amazing man. I was blessed to know him through my son Steven who loved him dearly. Rest In Peace Dr. Kirk

I was just thinking of Dr. Kirk, today, nearly five years after his passing, and he keeps on teaching me. I am so glad that his legacy lives on in so many.

To my professor, mentor, and friend. He will be missed but not forgotten. I hope someone will tend to his Japanese Garden with the love and attention that he did.
I was in China for the year and regret that I did not get to see him one last time before he left us.

will be missed

May the Heavens welcome you! You were such an inspiration, caring friend and mentor who helped me take the next step in earning an MA in English from CWRU. I will always remember the discussions in your sports car on our way to buy classical and jazz CDs or bringing the endless possibilities to life during our 60's Lit class in the Quad. Bless you and may God reward you for all of your noble deeds! It was an honor to know you :)

I'll always remember Dr. Kirk as my creative writing professor, having written and studied in two of such classes during my undergraduate years at Baldwin-Wallace. Also, he allowed me, as a new college graduate in 1980, to housesit in his condo and take care of his dog / whippet while he spent that summer in the Orient. Rest in peace, Dr. Kirk!!! He is an interesting man I'll never forget.

Dr Kirk was a true mentor to me and was immensely supportive of my writing. He told me he loved the fact that I also read voraciously. I have worked as a journalist covering religion for 32 years (4 years with the Exponent and 28 years since graduation from B-W). I last saw him in 2006 and we had a wonderful chat about our travels around the Holy Land.

Thanks to a good friend in the English Department for the great memories over the years we worked together. Enjoyed all our visits at Parkside. Will miss you.
