HARTLEY-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME Obituary


Daniel Joseph Like, 72 McComb, Ohio, passed away at his home on August 4, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.


Dan was born on March 15, 1946 in Lima, Ohio to the late Bert and Mary Like. He married his love of his life Sigrid Meyer on August 26, 1967 and celebrated 50 years of marriage and she survives him.  Also surviving are his sons: Kevin and Randy (Brigid), grandchildren Alexandrea, Kyle, Eveylnn, and Peyton, brother to Imogene, June, Ronald, Norma (Kenneth) Wagner, Shirley (Roger) Trenkamp, Bill, Charles (Sharon), Gary.  He was preceded in death by his sister Donna (Lloyd) Cooper.


Dan was a 1964 McComb High School graduate and a member of the National Guard and the McComb Rotary.  He worked at Consolidated Biscuit in numerous positions, starting as a machinist in 1965 before leaving as the plant manager in 1986. After leaving Consolidated Biscuit, Dan went back to his roots in farming and ran a large agricultural operation for 30 years.  He continued to grow his farm over the years before retiring in 2015.  His passion was to create and fabricate in his shop, enjoyed local and national sporting activities, especially Nascar and football. The most important part of Dan’s life was his family, especially his grandchildren who were his pride and joy.


Visitation will be at Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 PM in the HARTLEY-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 370 Park Dr S., McComb, Ohio 45858. Dan’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the St. Michael the Archangel Parish (Downtown), 617 W. Main Cross, Findlay, Ohio 45840. Interment will follow in the McComb Union Cemetery.


Memorial Contributions may be made in Dan’s honor to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Armes Cancer Center or to the American Cancer Society.
