Daniel Eugene Lint, age 76, son of Solomon and Anna Grace (Shallenberger) Lint of rural Scottdale, died peacefully on June 29, 2022, under the loving care of Suncrest Hospice at home with Cora and Fred.
Daniel was born March 2, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant. He attended Alverton Elementary School and (now) Intermediate Unit classes and work centers of Greensburg. In his early years Danny worked for several good and kind families in our farming community. He was an active member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and sang in the choir and also with his family for many years.
He was mentored throughout his life by Rev. Herbert Peterson, wife Sarah, and his uncle, J. Reid Shallenberger and wife Rosemary.
With the passing of his mother in 1976, he moved to Ohio to be with his sister Ethel and family where he became part of a special and loving organization, "Horizons Inc." under the direction of his angel and friend Jamie Shields and staff. A special Boy Scout Troop and Special Olympics were a big part of Danny's life as well as gifted teachers in art and glass work who helped him do well. May God bless all who care for persons with intellectual disabilities.
He loved going to sporting events and ball games with Ethel and her family and traveling with Cora and Fred to Virginia and Florida. He especially enjoyed the ocean and Disney World. Danny loved God, his family, and his country and proudly displayed the American flag.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Solomon (1964); mother, Anna Grace (1976); and sister, Ethel Mae (Lint) Kelley (2007). He will be missed by his sisters, Mary Dyer, Cora (Fred W. Street Jr.) and Sally (Edward Sedivy); brother, Harry J. Lint (Barbara), and brotherin law, Doug Kelley; special nephew, Jeffrey Kelley (wife Lilly and son Miles); and nephews Dow Street, Dane Street, Jason Kelley, Justin (Lewie) Kelley, John Dyer, Joseph Sedivy, and John Sedivy.
