Corridan Funeral Home - Chicopee Obituary

Chicopee- Daniel W. Lonczak, 51, left us too soon on April 8, 2025. A lifelong resident of Chicopee, Dan was born on December 27, 1973, one of 8 children of Michael P. and Colleen (Coughlin) Lonczak. He attended Holy Name School, and was a proud Pacer, graduating Chicopee High School in 1992. He received his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from HCC in 1997. Dan proudly worked for 27 years as a Trial Court Officer, most recently serving in Westfield District Court.  Dan will be dearly missed by his wife of 26 years, Lisa (Menard) Lonczak and their three children, Madelyn (and her partner Eliza), Grace, and Danny Lonczak, and their dogs, Rocky, Bruno, and Wilbur. He also leaves his parents, Mike and Colleen Lonczak, his siblings, Katie Lonczak Benoit, Cali Wojtowicz (Jay), Rachel Richardson (Bobby), Connor Lonczak (Amy), Mary Laskowski (Seba), Alex Lonczak, and Quinn Lonczak (Chelsey); his father and mother-in-law George and Suzanne Menard, his brother-in-law, Jeff Menard (Kristina), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and many close friends.  He is predeceased by his beloved sister-in-law, Alice, who sadly passed in 2024.  Dan greeted everyone and everything with joy and curiosity, making connections with people across the world. He loved everyone and everyone loved him. He would light up any room he entered with a joke, air guitar, or invading your personal space in the most loving way. He had immense pride for his children, from Maddie’s military service, Grace studying Criminal Justice to follow in his footsteps, and coaching Danny’s soccer team for many years.  Family and friends will gather at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at St. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St., Chicopee for Dan’s Funeral Mass. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Tunnels to Towers in Dan’s memory.

Dan the man

Mike, Dennis and I just learned of your son's passing yesterday. We were deeply saddened by the news, and our heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family.

Am glad that I had the honor of knowing Dan. We worked together for many year's. He wore his uniform proudly. The Trial Court lost one of it's best. With my condolences to his family. May Dan rest in peace.

Coach Dan as we knew him, coached my son for a number of years. He was very kind and everyone around him spoke of the kindness he showed. I was shocked to hear of Dan's passing, our sincere condolences to the family.

I am so sad to hear of Dan´s passing. He was such a great man who always made me feel welcome when I had business in the Westfield Court. He was funny and very entertaining every time I saw him. I think his ability to make people feel happy will be his legacy among friends. To his family, I offer my prayers and deepest condolences. He often spoke about his family with pride and affection. Conner, and The entire Lonczak Family, My deepest Sympathies to each and everyone of you. May his memories give your comfort. Hugs to all of you, Patricia Baker

Danny, I apologize, in my terrible typing skills. I thought I had your name in there, I edited it so many times because it was so hard to find the right things to say. Your Dad was so proud of you, he always talked about you and beamed when he did!! He is going to watch over you as well. Always know that you and your sisters and Mom were his world. He definitely wanted the absolute best for all of you in whatever life may bring you. Being the proud Dad he was, whatever path you chose, will...

God needed a Court Officer in Heaven, and he only takes the Best of the Best.....that is really the only sense I can make of Dan's passing. He was the ultimate Family man. Lisa, Madelyn, Grace, my heart goes out to you every day. Also, Danny's Mom and Dad, I cannot fathom the pain you have as well, we all pray for you. He was always so proud of you guys, every time I spoke with Dan, it was always, Family first. The hugs, the pokes and the jokes ensued shortly after, with a great big smile on...
