Not sure what to say?

As head of the Ionosphere Laboratory at the Technical University of Denmark I got in the 1970s contact with Daniel Lufkin. In November 1969 I was visiting NOAA in Boulder, and talked with Dan in the phone before my visit at Colorado Springs. We had never met, but Dan said that is no problem you will find me at the Greyhound bus Station. And he was right. As soon as I arrived I saw a US Colonel carrying a large Danish Flag.

I spend interesting days in Colorado, and I remember...

I just got the information to day, that we have lost our great friend Dan.
My naboer and I want to express our thankfulness for the friendship and help we have received from Dan. and we appreciate our common interest for technical matters and for Greenland.
Sincerely yours
Jrgen Taagholt, Scientific Liaison Officer for Greenland.

I cannot tell you how sorry I was to hear about your dad. I was shocked and saddened by the news. Please extend my sympathy to your mom and the rest of your family.

We felt honored to have met him and know his son Dave.

I'm very sorry for your loss. May the "God of all comfort" bring you peace throughout this difficult time. (2 Cor. 1:3)

My sincere condolences to the family .

There was both a gentleness and intensity to Dan . . . a wonderful balance of intelligence and heart. It was reassuring to be around him. He will be missed and remembered.

What a beautiful tribute. I'm so grateful to have known Dan for the short time I did. Pat, I'm sending good thoughts to you and your family.

Dear Pat and Family,
Fred and I are very sad to hear of your loss of Dan. He was an incredible man, intelligent and kind. He will be greatly missed by many.
