Not sure what to say?

I only learned of Dan´s passing today and I wish that I had the chance to talk to him one more time. We were together about four years and then remained good friends after that, but we lost touch when I moved. He was quite a guy - a man´s man, strong, brave - I always felt that he would protect me in any situation. Despite his toughness, he had a kind heart and a raucous sense of humor. He made me laugh a lot and I am a better person for it because he taught me not to sweat the small stuff....

We were partners in three different districts I learned everything from him ! I loved that guy! I'll see him again someday!

Danny and i were co-captains of the Track team that Kelly high school had probably for only that year.Yes without a doubt Danny was the "POLICE".He also was a legend in high school. And i must admit i was right there to see a few incidents that made him a legend. He was definitely known as a legend before becoming the police.
Danny always had a real respect for anyone who was in the armed forces.I know when i came home from boot camp he seemed to be going overboard with being nice to...

Godspeed my friend.... You were truly a legend on CPD! You will be missed!

Dan was not only my football teammate at UIC but he will always be my brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dan, his family, and friends.

Our sympathy goes out to the family Dan became like part of our family Always making us laugh and a heart of gold He was so proud of Danny and Galvin God Bless We thank you for being in our life You will be missed deeply Love Larry Pam Larry and Ashley

As a kid I always remember Dan being around as my father worked with him. I remember being on the boat in Lake Michigan and the card games they would have at the kitchen table. Later in life I was lucky enough to also work with Dan. I learned things then from him that taught me to survive to this day. I fondly remember coming home after work and my father waiting to hear the "Dan Story" from our tour hanging on to every word. He Will Be Missed Rest In Peace Deepest Condolences Bob Palenik...

Danny, I worked with your father for many years in the 9th District. He always brought you up in our conversations and told me how proud he was of you and Gavin.
He was the toughest and most tenacious police officer I ever met.
We kept in touch after we both retired and I am proud to tell you that we were very good friends. Jack Halpin C.P.D. (Ret.)

My thoughts and prayers go out to Dan’s family. He was a fun loving cousin and always had some interesting stories to tell.
I fondly remember the days past when getting together with him and his mom Sally. Rest In Peace Dan.
