Not sure what to say?

I met this legend at Sam's Joint in Alaska. I took a day off of work to go fishing, and it was worth its weight in gold meeting Mac. Five minutes into conversation, I learned that he was a friend of my grandpa, Fred Dabakey, who had passed in 98. We apparently lived 3 houses down. From then on we wound hang out and listen to classic country and old music and enjoy so many of beers. He turned into a a part of my family, but just my own little circle, that was a huge inspiration to me. I don't...

Miss ya Mac,had a lot of laughs, and good times. Bill Shuple

I knew Craig since 1961 when I was home on leave from submarines. Visiting my step brother james Zarafonetis at a party. also an east gr wrestler. Every one thought we were going to fight. We only arm wrestled . We became life long friends. He dove off my roof nude at a party. Also remember his friends jack Gould,Kent Dickinson, art Romance. Stories about his brother who thought hand to hand combat in the marines. Going to Mexico on motorcycles. One scrape we had with the bouncers at...

I've known Craig from my early days, as as a young friend of his brother Todd I visited their home on Fulton. Craig was something of a mythic figure, given his athletic prowess and time in the Marines, but he was kind and welcoming. When I saw him in later years, he saw me arriving at a funeral feast and came over to greet me, reciting one of my poems from my second book by heart. I was plainly astounded, but sat with him and caught up--he was loved by many of the folk his age and mine, so...

Forever Remembered

I lifted weights with him at the Grand Rapids Central YMCA from 1969 until I joined the Marines 1975. He inspired and encouraged me on many levels. I am privileged to have known him and concur with the many others who were in awe of his " colorful" Legacy ! Rest in Peace Mac. Ron

I am so sorry to hear of Craig's passing. The MacIntyre family were neighbors when the boys were very young and I ended up working with Craig at Kentree. We stayed closely in touch until I left the area in the '80's. He had a tough exterior but a better friend you would not fine. Remembering are exploits brings me much happiness.

Such a fun guy and have so many nice memories going way way back..............Jim K

Mac was a family friend of my Grandpa Withey's and I was 1st introduced as a young boy. My Dad yelled out to this He-man of a guy as we walked out of a Lowell wrestling match... Mac turned his V-back around with those bow legged legs and pumpkin sized biceps and that big Ole smile of his!! I got to know him better working on Shagbark Farms where he lived for a time... he'd toss me up a Budweiser as I finished up reapplying paint to the top of the corn bins. Many a days I sit up under the...
