Not sure what to say?

When I saw this from Fr. Brian Zumbrum Osfs I could not help but think of the way Father always waited for the call from his niece Toni to tell him how the children did at National History Day. As Peggy Tenant said, his impact will continue as those he cared for care for others. Now, three kids from inner city Wilmington DE will be going to the National History Day contest-- in part because of the experience Fr. Zumbrum had at HNJ.

"Friends, We are going to NATIONALS!! For the first...

I received this message that I thought everyone who loves Father Mahoney would want to read. It is from Laurie McCarthy.

Brian Zumbrum will be ordained next week in Allentown, and celebrate Mass at Holy Name on the 30th at 2:30. Brian was just talking about how he drew on the memories of Father's presence in the school in his work. After ordination he'll be working in an inner city school in Wilmington. Father would be so proud of him, and I am sure he will be there with him, smiling. ...

Bob Kuntz, I am Pegge Tennant, mother of Leslie,Jeff,Toni, and Steve Heiss who went to Holy Name in the 70's until 1979 when we moved away. Your mother was my sponsor when I joined the Catholic Church. She gave me the most beautiful crystal rosary which is sitting beside me at my desk right now. I loved both of your parents, especially you mother Ann. We were friends. Yes, there was nothing to compare to the glory days of Holy Name under Father Mahoney. We will see him again in Heaven, where...

Thank You Tennant Family for keeping Father's legacy alive and permanent in this way. Having just lost my father a few short weeks ago, all the memories of the "Glory Days" at Holy Name come rushing back. It truly was a wonderful time and the best childhood for me and thousands of others thanks to Father Mahoney and the great people of Holy Name many of whom are sadly gone now, including my beloved mother and secretary to Father Mahoney his first 25 years. God Bless

Living legacies to Father abound, but those who choose to follow in his footsteps as a priest are especially sweet. January 12, 2013: little love Brian Zumbrum is now a deacon, just six months away from ordination as a priest.

It is so nice to see someone remember Father Mahoney on this site. Yet, I know there are thousands who remember him everyday in their hearts, even though they do not enter the sentiment here.

Father's new church is built and holding Masses. It is beautiful, and was one of his dreams and visions for his children. Thanks to everyone who helped make this possible. Father Mahoney's life goes on here on earth as he enjoys Heaven.

It's March and "Danny Boy" is playing to almost as many people as were touched by your life, Father. Continue to look down on all His children, and all those who felt themselves yours. Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig!

Time does fly. Many little loves are out there being the people they are called to be partly because of the man so many still simply remember as "Father."

But however difficult the journeys might be, we can all count on a special guardian angel.

So here's to Danny boy, born into new life on the fourth of July.
