Not sure what to say?

Hi Pal, here I am once again attempting to place into "typed" words what my heart and mind are working on simultaneously....about you, my buddy and "Pal". Dan, I miss the simple and funny things we would do together. I miss just sitting and talking about professional matters, but personal ones are what I really miss. I miss us each attempting to out do the other in telling jokes (yes....you would always win). I just want you to know that This memory jogger was for my written thoughts, you...

Hard to believe 5 years have passed since my "Pal" Dan has passed. Like I've said before each time I have Malbec ....I have a memory of Dan. So, I think of him often as each time I toast my "Pal". Love ya big guy. MISS YOU!! -- John

Here we are May 2022 and Dan´s memory, his contributions to our society, his love of friends, brings his face and voice very clear. I miss him (a lot)!! Each time I sip a good Malbec - Dan is with me. Each time I enjoy good laugh / Dan is with me. Dan will always be with me!!!! I miss you Pal.

It's hard to believe that three years have past since my "pal" left us and moved on to a better place. Do I miss him? More than most would know. Awe spent many years together and developed a bond that kept our friendship strong and very meaningful. I have kept one of the last emails he sent me and when I read it --- it immediately brings his smiling face to light...I can hear his voice and then...his familiar giggle/laugh! Yes, I miss him....he IS my "PAL"!

It's been three years but I still miss my friend, Dr. Maxim, so much. I can't help but to think how much more he would have contributed to the world during the last three years. Obviously, Dr. Maxim had a big impact on my life ... AND he still does!

I first met Dan at a Coast Guard C-School in Petaluma, CA where we spent a week in Team Coordination Training class. Dan was gracious and humble enough to be a student but was obviously at several 'levels' above the instructors. I've learned a lot from Dan over the subsequent years and will sincerely miss him. Rest in peace Shipmate!

Thank you to the entire Maxim family for sharing your amazing Dan with all of us. It was a true privilege to serve the recreational boating public with him but most importantly to learn so much from him. He was a great teacher and wonderful friend to all. He will not be forgotten nor will his mission to educate. We will continue to honor him by educating with a keen sense of professionalism yet a wonderful sense of humor. You and he remain in our prayers. May you rest in God's peace Dr....

I still can't believe my "pal" is gone! Dan was intergalactically brilliantly smart, generous, special, passionate, analytical, compassionate, forgiving, dedicated, charming, a volunteer, husband, father and most of all....Dan was my friend! God Bless you and rest your soul "pal". I look forward to having another Malbec with you later on.
