Very sad to hear about the loss of Coach McAvoy. Terribly sorry for your loss. He was a terrific teacher and mentor. He definitely helped me find self confidence and a positive outlook. I believe that he was the teacher from Hononegah that had the greatest impact on my life.

Very sad to hear this news. I was just one of many students at Hononegah High School (class of 93) whom he inspired. It was always nice to see his smiling, happy self in class. One of the memories I have of Mr McAvoy is, that every time I heard it, reminded me of him, still to this day, was one of his favorite songs he would play sometimes for his students is "Spirit in the Sky".
