Not sure what to say?

Dan took me on my first fishing trip at the farias ranch when I was 8 years old. (I’m 54 now) I ask Dan how do you catch all your fish. He said take some chew in spit on your hook, and I did. I caught a 8 pound catfish. Dan you will be greatly missed and now you and my dad And mother Jerry, Jackie Hoskins are together in heaven. Thank you for the memories.

Loved that man and his warm smile and the way he'd shake his head in amusement when Lee and Patti and I sat in the kitchen talking for hours. Even when he wasn't feeling well, he'd brighten and say, "How're my girls?" I loved his big hug and his big heart. I will miss his humor and his comments that would cut right to the heart of things. He was authentic, solid, and down-to-earth. Dan McCarty was the real deal.

I was so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. I first met Dan when I was a kid and my dad Walter Powell Gray took me with him to Dan's Office. One of my first jobs was working for KD one summer. I have great memories of Dan and going to his ranch to deer hunt with my dad. My mom always said that Dan had such beautiful eyes! He was a great man and a great person and will be missed.

I loved Dan McCarty!!! He was a good friend and one helluva hunter. I was so fortunate to be Dan's banker in the early years and will always remember Dan for his wonderful donations to the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo!!! I love you too Lee and I hope you know that Tracie and I are here for anything you would ever need!! Love- Keith and Tracie Martin

Dan always made you feel special - not more special, but as special as anyone else. That is a great gift to give or receive. My love to Lee and sincere sympathy to all the McCarty's.

Lee, I was shocked and sad to read about Dan's passing. He was a very unique and admired man. When I first started sheep hunting Dan was my mentor. He unselfishly gave me much guidance and advice. Like Dan, I too used to go to Alamo Heights HS and run up and down the bleachers preparing for the rigors of mountain sheep hunting. At the hunting conventions I was always so impressed that Dan knew everyone! I am so glad I got to know Dan and I am very sorry for your loss. May God bless Dan...

Only met him one time! I was deeply impressed!!!!!! Libby talked of him frequently! I feel like I know his soul!!!!!

What an accomplished man he was. I will never forget those beautiful blue eyes. He was a special man Lee! Love to you all!

A shining example of a life well lived and a true and forever friend.
Priceless memories.
