Daniel McDonald

Dear Irene, Remembering Dan and thinking of you at this sad time. Best wishes to you and your family.

Dan was a loving husband and father, witty, accomplished and deeply religious. He was a joy to know. His spirit will live on in his children and the countless students who were fortunate to have him as their professor. I am humbled and honored to have called him friend.

I am so saddened by the loss of Dr. McDonald. He was professor extraordinaire, teaching the love of words and the beauty of the English language. I am forever grateful to have been his student. My prayers are with his family.

My deepest sympathy to Irene and the family. I have fond memories of Dan's help with my MA thesis. How ironic that it's recently been published, after many years, now entitled GEORGE WALLACE: AN ENIGMA.
I remember his dry sense of humor and encouragement.
Remember the good times and they will sustain you.

Professor Dan McDonald was an excellent teacher and writer. He brought a tremendous joy and an upbeat spirit to all he met. His classes at South were first rate and highly beneficial. He is now and will be missed by many. His smiling face will live on in our memories forever.

Two of my best friends in the world have been Dan and Irene McDonald. Irene has been strong through this difficult time, and I admire her so much for all she's doing now. I miss Dan terribly; my heart goes out to Irene, Molly, Rebecca and Nick.
