Not sure what to say?

I've just returned to the Cleveland area and learned one of the lawyers I worked for years ago has passed away. I worked for Dan (I'd always address him as Mr. McDonnell...just my way) in 1978 in the Engineers Building downtown. Dan was a throwback to the 1940's wearing a fedora and smoking cigarettes, like Humphrey Bogart. He had a loud hearty laugh, and I remember how he shared a hilarious story with the office that his daughter, Nancy, told him about in a letter when she was visiting...

Dan was my grandfather i wish he was still he today I'm the daughter of Nancy McDonnell

Hi Mrs. Connelly and family.
To whoever reads this, I am a friend of Katies and won't be able to make it to the funeral or wake, but want to let you know that I am praying for you all.

It's hard to find something to say at times like these. Although, I never really got to know him, I do know that he was a good man and the times I have talked to him were plesant and he will be missed. But now he's with Grandpa Conkey looking down on all of us. I offer my condolences to all the family. Love you.
