Not sure what to say?

I missed the funeral ,I didn´t hear about his passing until a friend called to give me the word. I´m having trouble with closure, I´ve known him since I was around 14-15yrs old

To The McGinty family: Please accept my sincerest condolences. Peanuts was one of a kind and to this day I´ve not met one person who loved music and supported our local musicians & bands as much as he did. 28+ years ago, when nobody else seemed to care, he took the time to come to my house and interview me. All I had to offer him were some older Club crackers and a generic soda! He graciously accepted them and was, of course, his usual class-act professional self. Had the good fortune of...

I met Peanuts at Hennessey´s in Lakewood in the early 70´s. We were there the night David Bowie came in after his concert. Peanuts was great and brought the great band Labyrinth to club. Thanks for the great memories Peanuts. R.I.P.

Met Peanuts in 1977 at Scene magazine and we always got along. After both of us left Scene and I went to other adventures, we kept in touch and since 1987 I was in charge of the "peanuts ink" mail. We worked on The Ghoul Show together and I spoke to him the day before he left us. Always outspoken, always honest, always kind. We'll never fiorget him. Thanks and Party On.

You were a fixture at all the shows...your heart was huge...God Bless

I knew Peanuts when I worked at Bill Jones which was next door to Melody Lane Records. He will be missed, may his memory be eternal.

Where to begin? So many decades of friendship, my family sharing tables with you at gigs .. you always had news to share- early concert warnings, band personnel changes, or just general music critiquing. We'll miss ya.. thanks for many years of hanging out..

Thank You Dan "Peanuts" McGinty for all the years of dedication to the Cleveland music "Scene" You my friend will certainly be missed! I hope they find a spot for you on the bench with Jane Scott...

Peanuts and I go way back, from my days as a DJ on the old WNCR-FM in the early '70s through bands like the Buckeye Biscuit Band and more recently the GeezeCats. How can you love such a curmudgeon as Peanuts? It's because he loved music and was so dedicated to the Cleveland music scene. I was always glad to see him at a club or elsewhere. So, reluctantly, and with an index finger twisting gently on my outer cheek, I bid a final hello and goodbye to a Cleveland legend. You will be missed and...
