"Danny" (as we then knew him) was a classmate and pal of mine in Maplewood NJ in the 1930s. We were classmates at Tuscan School in the early grades. He was the smartest kid in our class and well liked. The Mishell family lived at 730 Prospect Street, where he, another pal (Sol Carris), and I played together often. I would love to hear from members of his family. Joe Newman--860-675-3346 and [email protected].

Dear Carol,
I only just heard of Dan's passing a few minutes ago. Dan played such an important part in my professional development, and over time became a trusted friend. When I first started working with him, I was terrified of him. He always seemed so stern and serious. It took a while to discover the very kind and generous man he truly was. My thoughts are with you and the children.

Hi Carol and family - I want to offer condolences on the loss of Dan.
I am one of the 400 residents that benefited , so much, from Dan's teaching and friendship. We were together, at Harbor General/ UCLA Med Center, from 1963 to 1967. He always offered great inspiration and leadership.

Carol and family,
I am so sorry to hear of you loss. I hope that your wonderful memories bring you comfort in the years to come. I have no doubt that if Val and Dan are together again they are drinking the best wine and having great conversation.
With warm thoughts,
