I met Dan back in the late 1980s in a restaurant somewhere not far from the twin cities. He interviewed me for his Moriarty clan newsletter. I remember thinking at the time 'what a lovely man' sorry I did not get to know him better.

I am sorry that I was out of the state and missed the passing of Dan Moriarty. For many years we discussed the Moriarty history and the locations in County Kerry that our respective families originated from. I called Dan years ago following my visit to the Caladonia cemetery and found an inscription (Kilconly) on a Moriarty-Kenny tombstone. Someday I hope to track down the missing Blackjack John Moriarty. Dan was such a fine guy.

So sorry for your loss of a loved one. Dan was a wonderful person as well a wonderful teacher. Everyone loved him. He was a very well known and loved teacher. He always had a story to share in class. His memories will live on for a long time in all of our hearts. May he rest in peace.

Dan was a dear friend, a wonderful person and our son's confirmation sponsor. He was a co-worker at Mea and respected by everyone.

Wow....Mr. Moriarty was a special type of person. He had this spark about him that instantly drew his students to him right from day 1. As a substitute teacher he could walk into a class of strangers and captivate them, make them remember him forever. His true love of guiding students never waned in his career. He was truly kind and fun. To his family, I am sorry for your loss. You were lucky to have this one-in-a-million man in your life.

I knew of Dan when I was getting involved in MEA work in the late 1980's. He had such a wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed by many including me.

These are the times I wish we didn't winter in Arizona. We cannot attend your Fathers funeral or be there to hug you and tell you how sad we are and how much he meant to us. I can see you all as little children that I babysat. I loved taking care of you mainly because I was happy that your Dad and Mom could go out once in a while. You were always good kids. Easy to babysit. I think it is fair to say that your Father was one of the most loved teachers that so many of us were fortunate...
