Not sure what to say?

Dear parents of SSg Morris. My husband served with Daniel and was with him when he passed. My husband continues to serve and not a year has passed that we have not thought of him and remembered him. My husband considered him a friend and a great soldier. He still struggles with his passing. I hope that time has healed your wounds and brought you peace. In our home he is remembered as not only a hero but as a truly good person.

Still greatly loved and greatly missed.

Im not a man of many emotions but I find myself in tears. SGT Morris was my Team Leader in OIF 2. I love you man. You were a great man. Thank you for all your mentorship as a soldier and a person.

Please know that your sacrifice will not be forgotten. On Saturday May 23 I was honored to read the names of Tennessee's fallen in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars at a ceremony in Washington DC at the WWII Memorial. Daniel Morris is remembered.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you...
