I was a childhood of Dan's, we were on the swim team together. I had a chance to talk to Dan at the 30 year reunion. He was quite a guy. He made our High school coach the maddest I ever saw the coach when he made a machete in shop and tested it on a bench in the locker room. The coach had arms as big as most people's thighs. When he asked Dan why he did it he replied he he just wanted to see if it worked and grinned sheeplishy as only Dan could do. He lived and remained on the team...
