Daniel Nameth Sr.

Dan was a lifelong friend and mentor of mine. I grew up knowing Dan as he was a close friend of my father and both were avid outdoorsman. The older I got the more time I spent hunting and fishing with Dan. When I was a young man needing a positive role model in my life Dan was just that and then some. Dan not only taught me about the outdoors but taught me a lot about life. Dan helped mold me into the man that I am today. The time I spent with Dan in the outdoors are some of the best memories...

I worked with Dan for over 30 years and he was truly one of the good guys. If you looked up dedication in a dictionary, Dan´s name would be there. Always supportive, always on time, always complete - one of the many who made things happen. It was an honor to know him and call him friend.

I worked with Dan sparingly, but he treated me the same as everyone else. We talked about the big buck pool many times. I recall he always brought in donuts on Saturdays. RIP Dan.

Dan and I worked alongside each other at LSI and Smiths Industries for over 30 years. He was very dedicated to his work and turned several product lines into profitable businesses.For this we can all be thankful and I will always have the greatest respect for him. I´ll miss you Dan.

Dan was a co-worker at LSI/Smiths/GE. He managed his product line with much success, competence & grace, even while glamor and management attention was elsewhere many times. Dan was a true gentleman, only 30-months older than I am, and I am disappointed that he and his family had to suffer from that terrible disease. They do not come any finer than Dan Nameth. We were lucky to live across from Dan and Mary for 25 years. As neighbors, we bonded over our love of dogs, sports (especially MSU), and the importance of family, supporting each other in life´s most difficult moments, including the death of their beloved Danny. Dan was always looking out for us. Whenever we had a power outage (a frequent occurrence in our neighborhood), he gathered up his lanterns, and distributed them to us and other neighbors so we weren´t in the dark. Dan was a great friend, coworker, and fellow US Air Force officer. He was totally dedicated to the success of our LSI company and his product line. I worked with Dan at Smiths Aerospace. He was my first boss there and he taught me about products and people. We played softball together on the company team. He introduced me to Upper Silver Lake where I too bought a cottage. Thank you Dan. RIP.

Dan was always a down to Earth guy tho his aerospace knowledge elevated him and us surrounding co-workers sky high....May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
