Not sure what to say?

Dear Novak Family,

I met Dan at West Junior High in Richardson 7th Grade Year. Dan was Starting Fullback and Middle Linebacker. I was a lineman turned running back and defensive back. Dan and I played 4 years together on those teams and he was always uplifting and set a prime example of being Spiritually Balanced. I did not follow many people after we graduated in 1977. Dan was one of few people that I have always remembered. To quote James Taylor "I always thought that I would see you...

Kristi, Cody, Courtney and Casey,
I was deeply sadden by the news of Dan's passing. I was on a trip when I called home and Carolyn gave me the news. I'm so sorry I could not be there for the services. It was always a pleasure to see Dan, coming into the real estate office years ago, to our boys playing baseball together and seeing him when our kids played in sports in school. It was an honor to know him and our prayers and thoughts will be with you and the kids.

I did not know Dan but Kristi was a high school class mate and friend. My heart breaks for Kristi and the children over this tremendous loss. Kristi, you all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dan to me was not only a pledge brother but in the short period we were in college together he was a roommate, a camping buddy and groomsmen at my wedding. About 25 years have passed since the camping trip to New Mexico or Colorado but I do remember waking up in the sleeping bags and since Dan was the only one still sleeping, we had a good old fashion dog pile with myself next to the bottom but Dan still had that great smile in spite of the weight. That was typical of Dan; no matter how...

Kristi and Kids,
I never met you guys but I feel like I know each of you. I worked with Dan at Southtrust in the Midcities office for almost 3 years. He liked his job, but no one had any doubt that he truly loved and adored his family. I am from Sundown, TX and we had a lot of fun talking about West Texas and Lubbock and those things that only those who lived there appreciate.
As hard as it was, I can appreciate that Dan spent his last day doing exactly what he loved doing the...

As a leader in our church, Dan Novak encouraged me more than anyone as a youth worker. He walked with God. I know that he is with the Lord.

I will always remember the smile on Dan's face as he was playing catch with Cody or watching/cheering on the girls or just sitting in the stands visiting other parents. What a wonderful example of such a Godly man, father, husband and friend. My prayers are with you guys! Love ya!

Dear Novaks,
Dan and I first new each other playing football in Jr. High and then my family moved to Sherman. I met Dan again in Saddle Tramps at Tech. He and I both shared the same "Big Brother". I was greatly saddened to hear the news of Dan's passing, but so encouraged to read of all Dan accomplished in his life and especially his walk with God. His legacy with all of us who knew him at Tech was his fantastic smile. Dan always made any room he was in a better place to be. Our...
