Daniel T. O'Connor
AGE: 54 • Boynton Beach, FL
Daniel T. O'Connor, 54, of Boynton Beach, FL passed away peacefully on March 18, 2015 with family by his side. Born April 5, 1960 in Jersey City, NJ to James O'Connor and Jean (Donnelly) O'Connor, Daniel grew up in Old Bridge, NJ, spending summers boating with his family at the Jersey Shore. Daniel loved boats so much that he started working at Cedar-Mar Marina at the age of 14. It was at Cedar-Mar that Daniel eventually met his wife, Linda, whom he married in 1980.
Daniel spent most of his adult life in the Ocean County area before moving down South. With a B.A. in Accounting from Georgian Court University, Daniel maintained a highly successful career. His strong work ethic, drive and determination led to a number of high-level positions, including roles at General Motors and Stevens Institute of Technology. Most recently, Daniel served as the Business & Facilities Manager at Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Growing up with three sisters, Daniel was always a caring, selfless man with a huge heart and a contagious smile. He was a devoted husband and father who worked very hard to provide for his seven children, offering them every opportunity possible. Nothing made Daniel happier than being out on the boat with his family, cruising the New Jersey and Florida Waterways with the sun shining bright.
Daniel was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ella Marie Duffy; his father, James O'Connor; his mother-in-law, Margaret Rose Donohue; his father-in-law, William Donohue; his brothers-in-law, William Donohue, Jr. and Daniel Donohue, and a number of other relatives.
Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Linda (Donohue) O'Connor; his children: Colleen Brace, Brian Duffy, Tara Faulks, Daniel J. O'Connor, Keri Robinson, Michael O'Connor, and Shaun O'Connor; his daughters-in-law: Kristy Savonarola and Jennifer O'Connor; his sons-in-law: David Brace, Matthew Faulks, and Douglas Robinson; his grandchildren: Logan, Jack, Derek, Braden, Brielle, Carleigh, Lily, Lyla, and Hudson (with another grandson on the way); his mother, Jean (Donnelly) O'Connor; his sisters and their spouses: Kathleen and Thomas O'Connor, Maureen and Gary Kennedy, and Sharon and Chris Harris; his mother-in-law, June Donohue; his siblings-in-law: Tracey Donohue, Michael Donohue, Elaine and Michael Duffy, Douglas Donohue, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation on Thursday, March 26, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm (A Catholic prayer service will take place at 7:30 pm) and on Friday, March 27, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Road, Brick, NJ 08723. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, at 11:00 am at Brick Presbyterian Church, 111 Drum Point Road, Brick, NJ 08723. Dotty and I are so sorry to hear about Danny. We know that he is in heaven sitting next to our father and in peace. He will always be with us throughout our journey on earth and sometime in God's wisdom we will join him as well. His ways of life and caring for others will never be only in the past but for always and ever. God bless you.
