Mr. Daniel Burton Oswald, age 69, of Armuchee, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016, in a local hospital.
Mr. Oswald was born in Monroe, GA on October 21, 1946, son of the late John Archer Oswald and the late Harryette Burton Oswald. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Bell South for 30 years. Mr. Oswald was a member of Floyd Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Katherine Stull, to whom he was married on June 1, 1974; 2 sons, Casey Oswald, Tampa, FL, and Tommy Oswald, and his wife, Kelli, Cumming, GA; a granddaughter, Kaleigh Oswald, Ocala, FL; 2 sisters, Suzanne Carlson, and her husband, Carl, and Patricia Hawkins, all of Los Alamos, NM; 2 brothers, James Oswald, and his wife, Beth, Monroe, GA, and John T. Oswald, and his wife, Sarah, Wichita, KS; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016, at 1pm at Floyd Springs Baptist Church with his Pastor, the Rev. Dan Hyde officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard extending military honors.
The family will receive friends at Floyd Springs Baptist Church on Monday from 11am until the service hour. At other times, they may be contacted at the residence.
Pallbearers are requested to assemble at Floyd Springs Baptist Church on Monday at 12:30pm and include: Wayne Holsomback, Bill Duke, Henry Duke, Dan Roper, Nick Casey, and Tim Brannon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Floyd Springs Baptist Church, 1869 Floyd Springs Road, Armuchee, GA 30105.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
