Frye Funeral Home, Inc. Obituary

Daniel Cosmo  Piccolo, 95, of Monongahela, died Friday, November 10, 2023 in the Jefferson Hospital. He was born February 17, 1928 in Monongahela, the son of Salvatore and Rose Cartizano Piccolo.


Danny owned and operated a billiard parlor in Monongahela for many years and a floral shop in Charleroi.  He had a passionate interest in the PA Daily Lotteries and watching and keeping up with all college and professional sports scores. He was a US Army veteran having served our country during the Korean War. Danny enjoyed spending time with his many friends at his favorite place, the Union Grill in Washington.


He is survived by his beloved wife of forty five years, Connie Caldwell; two sons, Daniel Piccolo, Jr., John Piccolo and wife Alicia; and a daughter, Kathleen Piccolo; three grandchildren, Alexa, Adam and Gavin; and two great grandchildren, Rieland and Knixon, all of Las Vegas, Nevada.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Piccolo and sister, Katherine Macioce.


Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 2-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. Funeral prayers will begin at 9:30 AM in the funeral home on Thursday, November 16, 2023, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Monongahela. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery with military honors accorded by the US Army and the Mon Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad.

Thoughts and prayers to the family at this difficult time. Danny will be missed by many.

My heart is aching for all of you. I hope you will find some comfort in knowing that many many prayers are being said. He was one of the greatest men that I’ve ever known. He touched many many lives in such a special way. He will be so missed by all.
