I was a student of Mr.rankin´s he and I were close probably one of the most amazing men I´d ever met and truly an inspiration to many I´m shocked of his passing but his legacy will live on through many

I was one of his students my dad and I met with him months before school started and just going forward a few months he passes away I´m in shock :( I´m wondering all questions how did he pass:( miss him so much

Big Dan, with the deep voice on the surface, but carried himself with such grace. Man I'm totally floored with this news. Condolences to his family, and all that cared about him.

I am heartbroken at this news, and my thoughts go out to Dan's family. I worked with Dan in North Clackamas, and he was such a wonderful, wonderful teacher, leader and friend. He will be missed.

Dan was one of the best professors I had ever had. A great man with an amazing sense of humor! He will be very missed by so many.
