Not sure what to say?

I a going to miss Mr. Rapoport. I always enjoyed talking with him at the Muskegon Yacht Club. I know my father, Tony Gretzky, also enjoyed talking to him about the good ole days, sailing at the club. Now Dan joins the many yacht club members who have gone before him, including both my mom and dad, to sail forever in heaven. Peace and prayers to him and his family. God Bless.

Dan Rapoport, a life well lived.
Dan and I met the first time in 1965, as I can calculate back, when I got entangled with the local John Birch Society (thru letters to the editor in the Muskegon Chronicle). Dan called and offered to loan me his copy of the Blue Book of the John Birch Society; at that time he was a member of the Anti Defamation League of the B’nai B’rith (sp.). I made several trips to the Rapoport home on Miller...

Ron, Roger, and Carla,

Your dad was awesome. He did so much for so many - his deeds will cause his memory to be cherished and honored by future generations. Growing up in North Muskegon was special in part because of your parents.

I worked with Dan when he was President of the Temple and we became good friends. We shared the same appreciation for music and of course his love of sailing was a frequent topic of discussion. He contributed much to the community and will be missed. My condolences to you Anne.

What a special man Dan was. He always wanted to help people, teaching the many things he knew and sharing a kind word. I had only known Dan and Anne for the past seven years or so, and even when he turned 90, he was still quite spry. I consider it an honor and inspiration to have known him. I'll always think of him when I use my camera, as he advised me on the perfect camera at a great price to buy! Anne, my friend, I know you will miss him terribly but I hope the memories of his love...

I remember Mr Rapoport taking my farther and me sailing , spending time with him , at the marina ,listening to Carlas Bob Dylan records on his stero system ,and the box of coins he gave me . The box of coins sets on the shelf in my sound room , I look at it daily , and I never forgot who gave them to me .

Dear Anne, I'm so sorry you no longer have Dan with you. What an inspiration he was to so many. He cared so much for the people at MAP Supper House. He insisted that everyone have a blood pressure reading and I"m sure he was responsible for saving the life of many who listened to him. You know he is not far from you now and that God will keep His arms around you and ease your grief. Blessings and love,
Pat and Jim Bethke

Dan taught my friend, Tom Hogg, and I to sail back in the late 80s. He loved his boat, Magic, a 27 foot Ranger. Dan had never won a Wednesday night race before, but we won that first time crewing for him. He was a wonderful man and instilled in me a love for sailing. Thank you, Dan. You are missed.

Roger and Martha - our thoughts and prayers are with you. We know that your memories of Dan will help you through this loss. - Our love - Barbara, Sarah, Douglas and Hannah
