Dear Robie Family... I mentioned in my note to you about Danny singing You Were Always On My Mind...I have not heard the song in over 10 years. In the past month, I have heard the song 5 times. His spirit is all around us and it is comforting. Just wanted you all to know that.

Dear Mrs. Robie (Sophie): Growing up battling against Dan in Little League and on the summer playgrounds, and then playing with him for Skip Kennedy and Jeff Bevino turned an intense rivalry into a warm friendship. I remember the night we won the 16-18 Babe Ruth State Tournament at Cubeta in 1976 and even though Danny was absent and in Montana playing pro ball, you were there, Sophie, as the first one out of the stands to celebrate the victory with me. Around 24 years ago, when I was about 6, I sent Uncle Danny a letter. He hadn't been around Grammy's that much and I missed him. In the letter, I told him I loved him and that I wanted to see him. Soon after (if memory serves me it was soon after) I got to see my Uncle again. I wish I could send that letter now and see Uncle Danny. In recent years, I wish I had spoken to my Uncle more often. I hope he knew how much I loved him.

I was one year senior at SHS and remember Danny well from playing SHS Football, SHS & Babe Ruth Baseball with him. Outstanding player and teammate. My deepest sympathy.

My husband Artie Ruffels and I came back from this weekend with all the spirit of Danny. The laughter, pain, compassion and drive. If any word could describe him it would be "family". His family did him proud today as he often said he was of you. Thank you for sharing this beautiful and intimate service with all of us who loved him.

I am very sorry for your loss. May the your minds ease in time knowing that Danny is the hands of God. I am two years young than Danny and his friends playing sports in Stamford, and at Stamford High School. Danny accepted me as a player and person at a young age and was one of the guys who took me under his wing. As a kid this allowed me to be friends with and play with some great people. It really is something you never forget for the rest of your life.

Dear Robie Family - Please know that we are thinking of you during this very difficult time. Danny played baseball and football with my brother, as well as my husband years and years ago at Stamford High. What a great bunch of crazy, fun guys they all were. We were also lucky enough to have pictures and memories of him - not just at our wedding.... but in our wedding in 1985.
