passed away peacefully on September 3rd, 2022 at the age of 75. For the past 12 years he battled many health challenges, but he never let them define him. He was the most loving and supportive father, a terrific friend, a courageous fighter, and a dedicated servant of God. The Reverend Daniel...

Not sure what to say?

This may surprise some people who only knew Dan from his work in Cleveland. Dan and I were two of a small circle of some six or seven friends. We grew up in the small town of Benkelman, Nebraska (population 1500 at the time) back in the '60's. One of the primary pastimes for us back then was to cruise up and down the streets of Benkelman with friends, honking happily whenever we saw another car containing friends and acquaintances. But the summer of '63 was different. Danny decided we could...

A starting high school basketball teammate of Danny and a friend in HS. We had many adventures, not always acceptable. I remember many great times with him.

Dear Abby and Rebekah, Very sad to see this. We thought Dan had moved in with Abby. Our sincerest condolences. Your dad was such a kind man, and my kids loved him. They looked forward to your dad´s turn in our carpooling, in the morning. May God continue to comfort you in your loss. You were a given a very wonderful Dad. With love, Janet Guest

Today I interviewed for a Chaplain position and shared special memories of Dan who had mentored and encouraged me over many years and life events. I had no idea he had passed until searching for a phone number hoping to reconnect. He was the best. I admired and respected him so much. He gave me a beautiful gift when leaving Metro of an employee evaluation giving me "exceeds expectations " and told me he was proud of me. He said I might need it one day. I used it today for my interview and I...

Best to all friends and family. Dan was my freshman basketball coach and teacher at Benkelman, NE. As a young member of the church I recall the family and Sundays at church. Take care.

Very sorry to hear of Dan´s passing. The times together while in high school in Randolph made memories that will never be forgotten. His father officiated at Vandee and my wedding in 1968. Condolences to all of Dan´s family .

My deepest sympathies to all !!! Dan was a wonderful man and great leader Shirley fisher

Dan was a good friend from our days at Benkelman high school. His dad was one of the most beloved pastors ever in Benkelman. It is no surprise look down followed in his footsteps. Dan´s favorite baseball team back in those days was the Cleveland Indians. He always had a love for Cleveland. The last time I ever saw him was in 1997 when I had a conference in Cleveland. We had a wonderful time together discussing old times and new. It is so nice that he was able to live his dream.
