So sorry to hear about Dr. Saylak's passing years ago. I was recently going through a box of old things and fondly recalled my days (and nights!) shadowing him in the emergency deparment in College Station in prepartion for my own career in medicine. He was kind enough to write a letter of recommendation in support of my candidacy for admission to medical school in 2000. It seems like yesterday - but now I'm a pulmonology & critical care medicine physician in Atlanta, GA with more than a...

I think often of Dan's ideas, his thoughts of possible projects and strategies and of his commitment to the osteopathic profession. He is missed.

Amy, Diana, Suzy-
I am so sad to hear of your loss. Your dad was a great person and so incredibly proud of all of y'all. What a great legacy he leaves behind--a wonderful father, husband, doctor, and someone who truly cared about being an important part of our community. He will be missed.
Sincerely-
Janet Harrison (Kaitlin and Josh)

Dear Amy,Susie and Diana:
Aunt Peg and Uncle Hal were deeply saddened when we heard that your "dad" and "husband" had passed.
Dan will always be remembered for his intelligence and sense of humor.
We were fortunate to have seen him in person before he passed.

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Saylak. My daughter was one of the last deliveries he did at the Hearne Hospital...AND he did it in his jogging suit! I knew him as a very kind and compassionate person. My thoughts and prayers go out to Amy, Diana, Suzy and the entire Saylak family. He will be truly missed.

Prayers for the Saylak family on the loss of their loved one. Dr Saylak was in my experience a good man who didn't mind taking a few moments to teach others and share his passion for medicine. He will be truly missed.
