Not sure what to say?

Daniel and I were altar boys at St Rose of Lima Church in Massapequa. We were friends all through High School, pretty much my only friend. We lost touch in college but I never forgot the wise kind friend who made my shaky adolescence bearable.

May his memory be a blessing.

My memories of Mr. Scanlon will always be of happy times laughing, joking around with the social studies department at Hillcrest HS, and guiding us to excellence! He lives on in our memories forever! May his memory be a blessing!

My sincere condolences to Dan´s family. My prayers are with yours. I was pleased to know him as a kind leader who took our Clipper Ship to many great places. He has helped our school and students grow from strength to STRENGTH. Saints of God, come to his aid! Hasten to meet him, angels of the Lord! Receive his soul and present him to God the Most High. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, And let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

Very saddened to hear of Mr. Scanlon´s passing. He was my first assistant principal supervisor at Hillcrest and guided me through those first years with humor and sensitivity and excellence. I owe him much, and really enjoyed the opportunities since when he´d visit my class as a visiting principal or when I´d go to Adams. He shall be very fondly remembered and always appreciated.

So sorry to hear of Dan's passing. We shared many good times at Hillcrest HS especially during the summer sessions. Dan was an incredible educator, a person of great intellect and most importantly an extremely decent human being. He will be greatly missed. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

Dan was my best friend for the seven years I was at Hillcrest. Over the years, we shared laughs, family milestones and professional camaraderie. Although we have been out of touch for the past decade, I am greatly saddened by his loss. It is hard to imagine waking up in a world where Dan no longer resides. My heartfelt condolences to his family. May he Rest in Peace.
