I just read in Bench and Bar that Dan had passed away. I am so saddened I feel sick. I can't imagine how much you must miss him. He was a truly a once in a lifetime friend to me and I should have stayed in touch better than I did. There are just no words to express the sorrow I feel for each of you.

I wanted to express my sympathies. I tried my first jury trial before Judge Schneider in 1995, and was very impressed with his low-key demeanor and good nature. He always was quick to acknowledge me when I would see him on the street or in the courthouse. All in all, Judge Schneider was a very nice man who will be missed.

Judge Schneider always had a smile. Always cared about the people he served and dealt with. I last saw him and spoke to him a little over a year or so ago. Still the same old Judge Schneider I had the opportunity to meet years ago on the bench. He always talked about family, life, and people. He was missed when he retired and will be missed even more with his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Joann, Josh & Jed,
Words cannot express how sad I am for your loss! Dan was such a great guy! He was a dear friend to me and helped me through some very difficult times in my life. I honestly used to look forward to going to work when I worked for him! Not only was he always there for me when I worked for him, but he was there for me (and Paul) after I left the Hall of Justice. We always knew we could count on him for advice. He truly was one of my favorite people! You will all...

Very sorry to hear uncle Danny had passed unexpectedly. Fun times at the cabin in WI when I was a kid with my parents. My mother is the sister in-law to Dan.
My prayers go out to Josh, Jed and Aunt Jo.

I met Dan over 40 years ago and have never met a nicer guy. We worked together then, and later when the Family Courts were being created, he was the one I checked with to before I voted for the bill(s) in the Legislature because I knew I could trust him.
He will be missed.
