Not sure what to say?

Dan Sharp was one of the finest persons my late husband and I ever knew. Roland and Dan were long-time roommates as cadets at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and very close friends. Dan and I became friends too, during that very busy time.

Dan's warmth and helpfulness were ever present. To me, he seemed like a thoughtful, considerate brother in many ways.

Greatly liked, admired and respected, Dan exemplified qualities that make a great friend, patriot and...

I am proud to have had the privilege of spending hundreds of river miles with Dan Sharp. Many fond personal memories were created on the Middle Fork of the Slamon, the Main Salmon, The Bruneau and the Payette Rivers.
The world is a better place because of Dan. My sincere condolences to Marilyn ("Dan's wife" in General Schwarzkopf's biography) and Dan's family.

I loved those stories and cherish them to this day.
Dan always had a dog around and I loved to go over and ask...

Thank you for letting me help take care of such a distinguished man and wonderful man.

Col. Sharp was Deputy Commandant of Cadets during a part of the time when I was at West Point; he made the cadets feel that they were listened to and that they had a professional soldier to look up to. In many ways, he WAS the real Commandant of Cadets to many of us. "Grip hands, though it be from the shadows..." Dennis Mansfield, Boise, ID, Member USMA Class of '78

Dan was a great man, a great leader and his tombstone should have four stars on it. Maj Gen (Ret) Ben Harrison.
