Not sure what to say?

Such an awesome instructor. I will always cherish the experience he gave to us students, by taking us to visit his Alma Mater on High School Day. The opportunity to witness higher education. From time to time, when I would visit home, I'd drop by to say hello to him at his Insurance Agency. He will be missed, but I am thankful to have been one of his students. Take your rest Mr. Shields.

Mr. Shield’s gave me my first accounting job right out of college working in his insurance agency in Weldon in 1981. He was most helpful in showing me how to provide good customer service and developing a rapport with his customers and learning about the insurance business. He will be dearly missed in the community. I send my condolences to the Shield’s family.

Prayers of comfort and peace to the Shields family. As many have shared, Mr Shields was a beloved teacher and admired for his love of science and deep devotion to WHS students.. Class of 82 salute you, with honor and respect. RIH

My condolences to the Shield family. Sorry to hear of his passing. Our memories of him the class of 78 we will forever treasure them, he was with us in October for 45 class reunion good times and precious memories made. May he forever rest him peace. And we thank him for all he taught us.

Daniel Clifton Sheilds was a classmate of mine. He was a wonderful person always willing to help others. We met for breakfast about a year ago along with some other classmates while I was visiting family members . We had a wonderful time. He will truly be missed by all. My Prayers go out to his family and may God continue to give you strength.

Mr. Shields left an indelible mark in the minds and hearts of his students. Mr. Shields taught me both biology and chemistry. His love for teaching, and engaging his students in the sciences, left many of us yearning for additional educational experiences. Mr. Shields attended the Weldon High School Class of 1978's Reunion in October. We were thrilled that he was able to join us. He was as kind and effervescent as always. We are thankful that we able to spend this time with him.

I would like to offer my condolences to the family of Mr. Daniel Shields. He was an incredible educator and a more amazing role model and person. He cared deeply for his students and the success of Weldon High School. I could always expect him to push me to be my best and to greet his students with a smile. He will be missed.
Eric Bryant- WHS Class of 93

Sending prayers to the family of Mr. Shields! May God's love comfort you during passing of your loved one and always! Mr. Shields was one of my favorite teachers at Weldon High School and has been my insurance agent for a while. Always smiling and always helpful. May he be long remembered for his kindness. I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. Shields' passing. He undoubtedly left a lasting impression on me as one of his Weldon High School students. Suffice it to say, Mr. Shields helped set me on careers with the USAF (and beyond) that embodied the science discipline. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. My family and I would like to pass along our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
