Not sure what to say?

Loretta and family, It is inspiring to have met Dan and to learn something of his life and achievements. As I have related to you before Loretta, our nation needs Dan's wise counsel and the story of his life now more than ever. I look forward to reading his new book and am hopeful that it and the life's work of this wonderful man will help our nation heal some of the racial and related strife it is experiencing. With profound respect for you and Dan and sadness on Dan's passing. Roy Jones

Loretta, I was saddened to hear of Dan's passing. He was a lovely man. I always appreciated his warm hospitality and his interesting conversation. He will be missed.

Loretta, Dan was a wonderful person who lived such a rich , full life. You and he were well matched. Please accept my deepest condolences and sympathy. With great affection, Laura

Dear Loretta and family members, I am so sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dan and Loretta when they visited Beardsley Library, in his hometown of Winsted, CT, to research his Smith family roots. Dan was a delightful person, with a passion for knowledge, and he will be fondly remembered. My sincerest sympathy to Loretta and family on their loss.

I'm very sorry to hear of the passing of such a talented man. May God bring comfort to the family.

Dear Loretta, You and we have lost a wonderful person, but there are so many memories that we all have about Dan as a wonderful person and a person so committed to bettering life in our city. My thoughts are with you at this sad time. I am tied up in Boston with a traumatic leg injury, so I am sorry to miss seeing you at this very sad time. Still i I have so many fond memories.
