Barrington, Illinois
Daniel Brennan Sprehe, age 32, born Feb. 20, 1978, passed away Sept. 28, 2010, from complications of diabetes. Danny's family takes comfort knowing that our Blessed Lord has freed him from his suffering. His work here was finished. Dan Sprehe was the loving and devoted son of Mary Lynn, nee Halpin, Sprehe and David Louis Sprehe; and the faithful and dear brother of Michael David Sprehe and Stephen Christopher (Wendy) Sprehe. Dan loved all his large family, and will never be forgotten by his nephews Matthew and Ryan Sprehe; his uncles and aunts, Thomas (Karen) Halpin, Janet Kennedy, William (Debbie) Halpin, Paul Sprehe, Tim (Elaine) Sprehe, Stella (Charles) Deal, Chris (Donna) Sprehe, Stephen (Kaye) Sprehe, Andy Sprehe, and Sam (Pam) Sprehe; and by his great aunt, Lorraine Cross. Our blessed son now joins his beloved grandparents, Francis and Stella Sprehe and Carroll and Phyllis Halpin, and his uncle, Daniel Joseph Sprehe. From both sides of his family Dan had many cousins who all loved and enjoyed him. Dan leaves behind many long time and devoted friends who were kind to him and helped him enjoy life to the fullest. Throughout his life, Danny dedicated himself to developing the gifts the Lord gave him, as a musician, broadcaster, journalist, computer expert, investigator, and most of all, as a loving son, brother and friend. Visitation for Dan will take place from 4 to 9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 1, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington, and Saturday, Oct. 2, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m., at St. Anne Church, 120 N. Ela St. (at the corner of Franklin Street), Barrington. Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine. In memory of Dan Sprehe, memorials to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 11 S. LaSalle Street, Suite 1880, Chicago, IL 60603-1344, would be appreciated. Online condolences may be left at www.davenportfamily.com, or call 847-381-3411 for information.

Our condolences to the Sprehe family on the loss of Dan Sprehe. We remember him in his youth as a friend of our son, Jon Markese. We enjoyed his company and humor as a teen... and sympathize with his family who will miss the joys that Dan most certainly brought to every occasion!

I was introduced to Danny in May 1978. He was about 2 months old and was present at a gathering at our house in Connecticut, stuffed under the chair of his father or mother in our living room for the entire evening and didn't make a peep. That's how I will always remember Danny - a quiet young man with very high-minded principles and values, passionate about his interests in good government in Chicago (a monumental challenge), with much more to be done, now goes to his heavenly Father, for...

Dear David and Lynn,
My treasured friends Stella and Charlie Deal have shared the news of the loss of your son and their dear nephew Daniel. You may remember my husband Tony (passed on Jan.27, 2003) and me from Andy and Charle's weddings here in the East and as the Connecticut friends of the Deal family. We had the pleasure of meeting you at the boys' weddings and in Chicago many years ago.
My heart aches at the thought of the loss of your dear son. Please know...
