Not sure what to say?

Dan sure leaves a HUGE hole in this world. We "came on duty" at Chaco Canyon (as it was then), within a week of each other, in 1982, & were next-door-neighbors - & friends immediately. Because that is how he was. And when we discovered that our birthdays were only 2 days apart? Well that called for joint celebrations & gag gifts. ALL our memories of him (& Karen) always did - & always will - bring a smile, & memories to treasure.

DEAR KAREN - We are so terribly sorry and saddened. Dan was easily one of our all-time favorites among the folks we worked with over our Park Service years, and we were grateful for his friendship and yours then and in the years since we all retired. We will always remember the two of you so generously overseeing our two small children at Ellen's mother's funeral in San Antonio, TX many years ago. And we have a host of happy memories of you both. We are heartbroken by Dan's passing. We send...

Dan, You were a great friend and now you are gone too soon. There was still more travel to be had, wine to drink, and motorcycle trips to take. I guess from this point on, God will be your co-pilot and you are in the best of hands. Still, for those of us left behind, we will forever miss your smile, your laugh, and your kindness to all you met. God Speed my friend. May the sun always be shining and your heart forever full of the love we all felt for you.

I, too, Karen, will always appreciate having the wonderful opportunity to work with you and dear Dan at our former "Southwest Regional Office," which was a true pleasure. Sincere sympathy to you regarding this loss in your life. Please try to keep in mind that in, Reality, life is eternal; and Dan is with our Father Mother God.

Karen, I am so sorry to learn of Dan´s passing. You two were the cutest couple. I send you my condolences and a gentle hug. Dan was a wonderful man and I enjoyed working with him at the National Park Service. Rest in peace Dan.

I'm stunned at Dan's passing; I guess because he always came across as the type of person who would live forever. I've not seen Dan in a long time; but I often remember all the fun times we shared as co-workers. May he rest in peace. Condolences to Karen and best regards.

Danny was my uncle. He was a truly large-hearted man who shared his love of blues and underground comics with me. I will miss him.
