Daniel Stephens

Daniel Stephens, 26, of Ruckersville, left us suddenly due to an automobile accident Friday, June 11, 2010, in Greene County.

He was born October 12, 1983, in Charlottesville.

Daniel was a supervisor for Hearth Wood Apartments in Charlottesville. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing softball, shooting pool and playing in many tournaments. He spent Friday and Saturday nights hanging out with his 29 Crew and they will miss him. His life was cut short, but Daniel lived it to the fullest with his family and friends, whom dearly loved him.

He is survived by his grandmothers, Gladys Stephens and Vergie Shifflett; parents, Tommy Shifflett and Debra Turner; his wife, Sammy Stephens; two sons, Colton Stephens and Caleb Stephens; three brothers, Jermey Stephens, Zach Stephens and Melvin Shifflett Jr.; three sisters, Connie Dudley, Beverley Lawhorn and Carrie Wilson; a special nephew, Dusty Shifflett; a special uncle and aunt, Junior and Sandra Morris; special cousin, Joey Morris; and many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison, conducted by Pastor Glenn Shifflett.

The interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Charlottesville.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, June 15, 2010, at the funeral home.

Daniel Stevens will be sadly missed. He was not only part of a great team here at Hearthwood Apartments, but he was a great person... A loving father.. A loyal cousin.. A hard-worker and a humble friend... You will forever be in our hearts... Don't forget to save a place for your family and friends up there, when our time's come - we will see you again.

sammy so sorry to hear about daniel and i know he will be missed greatly..keep your head up

I know in my heart Daniel is watching over us everyday now keeping us safe! He would be so proud to know so many people came together to show thier respects for him. He was a GREAT friend to so many people, Father to the boys and Husband to you. There is not a day that goes by where we wont think of him and laugh at all the crazy things he said and did! Sammy, as you already know... I will always be here for you and the boys!
