CAYCE - Funeral services for Daniel Alton Stewart, age 70, who died Tuesday, September 14, 2004, will be held at 11am Saturday in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, with interment at Ridge Crest Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will be held from 6-9pm Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Stewart was born in Henderson County, TN, the son of the late Walter A. and Doris Darnell Stewart. He was retired from construction, a member of Cayce Lodge No. 384, and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Stewart, known as “Uncle Dan” by many, was an avid fisherman and college football enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife, Carole Shriner Stewart of Cayce; children, Kenneth Daniel and Timothy Stewart; brother, Dennis L. Stewart of Los Angeles, CA; and his beloved dog, Wrecker.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
