Not sure what to say?

I was a close friend of Dan's while in high school in Detroit. Those memories are the best anyone could have----the good times were the greatest and we got each other through the lows. Dan was the bravest person I have ever known---losing one's eyesight when he was a teenager would stop most people, but not Dan. HE kept everyone else going. To know Dan was to have a friend for life---Danny, I will miss hearing your deep voice unexpectedly when I answer the phone---"Helllooooo". And then the...

Dan Stewart was the kindest, most genuine and well respected individual I've ever experienced the pleasure of knowing. He was a wonderful mentor and a great friend to me. Many people's lives were richly blessed by his wisdom, guidance and genuine friendship. Dan always said that he "had it all"...A wonderful marriage of 25 years, two of the greatest sons any man could ever have wished for, an extremely successful career in Radio Broadcasting, with valued friends always surrounding him. 'Mr....

Dan and I were the best of friends way back at Henry Ford HS. I used to walk him to classes and we would sit for hours after school discussing world problems, school friends, etc. I went thru the years with him when he totally lost his sight and he was a trooper thru it all and never complained. He will be missed by everyone who knew him and I know I speak for all his old friends at Henry Ford High!!!!

Of any broadcaster I have known, Dan Stewart's mighty vision for success was unfailing attention to detail, treating all people he knew with respect and dignity...all while he lived, enjoyed, and made the world of radio a better place. For thirty years, going back to the days when we shared working in the great atmosphere of professionalism under Howard Wolfe and Bill Edwards, I have never known Dan to waiver from his principles. Amy and I send our sincere condolences to his family.

Dan was a joygiver, a great gift to those who knew him in the broadcasting world. Dan was the general manager for Liggett Broadcasting in Saginaw while I was fulfilling the same duties in Grand Rapids. I remember a couple of great boat rides with Dan. He was a wonderful guy who will be missed!

I am very surprised and saddened by the death of a very dear old friend. Dan convinced me that I could sell radio advertising in 1970. We worked together for 5 years until I was able to manage a radio station in GR in 1975. Dan was the most giving boss-friend that I ever worked with. Because of his special gift,he was able to focus on any task at hand and was by far and away the best salesperson that I was ever associated with. Laughs abounded in his company. The day we changed his brail...

I began working with Dan in 1998, just before his retirement from WHNN. He was always a pleasure to talk to, whether it was business or pleasure. I enjoyed the times he took me and my now-husband out to dinner and the wonderful stories and jokes he told to us. I was shocked to learn of his death. A lot of the wonderful things I have learned in my career are because of Dan, mostly to be myself and to keep my chin up, and I thank him for that. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I am...

I started my career, and worked with Dan for 18 great years until his retirement in 1999. He will always be remembered for his strong sense of business integrity and vision. He was an outstanding mentor to everyone around him, and we are all better at what we do and who we are because of the time he spent us. Dan loved the radio business and WHNN, and he deserves full credit for all of the success that WHNN has had for the past 25 years. He will be missed as a close friend, and fondly...

I worked with Dan every day for nine years, 1978 to 1986. It was a special time in his life and mine as our children were young and our occupations were fun and exciting. I could write a book about the things I learned from Dan and the almost legendary capers we embarked upon together. He was a true and trusted friend and his presence improved the world we live in.
