Not sure what to say?

I served with Dan and Sue at Zweibrucken and like everyone else who was in the 17TRS in those years, I will tell you they were the best years of our careers and Dan and Sue were in the middle of everything.

Dan and I were "room mates" for five weeks in August 1971 in Athens as we were searching for the Soviet Navy with late night/very early morning flights. The stories we can tell.

The world is a better place because of Dan and Sue. I am glad to say they were friends. May...

God Bless Uncle Dan and Aunt Susan.

Dan was my Ops Officer at Zwei. I am pretty sure I'm not the only one to remember him as "Hostile Man" . . . and yes, that really is a term of endearment. Rough and gruff on the outside disguising a great pilot, gentlemen, and friend. What great times we had with H-Man and Sue. Remember those hail-and-farewell parties, road-rallyes, and cross country flights? We entertained ourselves without TV, telephones, and the internet . . . those were the days.

We remember the great times we had with Dan and Sue in Germany and South Carolina. Dan visited us several years ago in Southern California.
Our condolences to their children.
Ray and Mary Beauchamp

It was a sad day when we heard of the passing of Sue, and now Dan.
We were friends in Germany, and have many fond memories of our time with them. They were a fun couple, and just good folks.
Our prayers will be for the family

Our memories go back to Zweibruken where we flew and served together in the Tac Reccse Wing. Fondest memory was KC97 night refueling checkout in the back seat....nuff said about that. On your final flight we wish you smooth air and tail winds. With your passing, the world will be a lesser place.....Jess & May Lofgreen, Austin Texas

We were saddened to hear of the passing of both Dan and Sue. I had the honor and pleasure of flying with Dan in both the 12th and 17th TRS. Dan was a superb pilot and instructor. Sue and Dan were great role models and dear friends. Our prayers and condolences for the Sydow family.

We were saddened to learn of Dan's death so soon after Sue's death. Last time we saw them was at a Recce Reunion in Chattanooga a few years ago. Thoughts and prayers are with the family.

To the family and friends, I was a fellow flyer with Dan at Tan Son Nhut, he was a super pilot and just a great guy. I know he will be greatly missed, my prayers and sincerest sympathy.
