Not sure what to say?

To the Thornburgh family,

I knew Mr. Thornburgh when I was on the Eastern Illinois University Warbler yearbook staff for three years. He was a great communicator and yearbook advisor. Unfortunately, I never got to develop further personal relationship with him after graduating from EIU. Over the years, I did follow his career mostly through the Time-Courier newspaper.

I remember Dr. Thornburgh of the 1980s as a man of great dignity and commitment. As a college student that didn't resonate, but as the years trudged on it came back to me. Because these are traits of the rare breed. It was my great honor be close to the flame for just a little while. Dan Thornburgh will be well remembered, well remembered indeed.

Dear Adrianne Thornburgh and Family, I am sorry for the loss of Dan D.T. Thornburgh. He was a great man. My prayers are with you. Anthony Blackwell, Eastern News Editor, 1973. Chicago, IL.

The Officers and Members of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Danville, 32° Masons would like to extend our sincere condolences.

To the Thornburgh Family---Agnes and I were very sorry to learn of Dan's passing. I enjoyed our time together in Rotary. He led such an active life. May your cherished times together bring you comfort.

Adrianne sure will miss my "usher" buddy. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Carol Sue Hankins

Dear Thornburgh Family, I am so sorry to hear of DT's passing. You were all good neighbors when we lived in Charleston, and he gave me my job in Student Publications, which I held for 17 years! No matter how busy he was, he never failed to ask about my parents and my family. Betty (Harrison) Yaw

Adrianne and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. I'd looked forward to seeing him when next I could have visited Southern Illinois. I had so enjoyed him, for all too brief a time. My thoughts are with you all, and I have your Christmas letter nearby, so now will go it as wish I could offer my condolences to all named therein.
