Danny D. Valdez Jr., 53, a lifelong resident of Las Cruces, NM, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, at Mesilla Valley Hospice, surrounded by his closest loved ones. Danny was born to Danny D. Valdez Sr. and Stella Valdez on January 6, 1971, in Las Cruces, NM. He graduated from Hatch Valley High School in 1989 and was a proud Hatch Bear.
Danny met Celia Delgado, the mother of his three children, and together they built a family filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He
was a devoted father to Michael "Bubba" Holguin, Sophia (Michael) Redwine, and Emma Valdez. He was also the proud Grandpa of Jack Holguin and Julian
“Juju” Redwine.
Danny retired from the City of Las Cruces, dedicating his career to Airfield Management Operations. He was known for his hardworking nature and
his steadfast commitment to his work.
A lifelong sports fan, Danny loved cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Chicago Cubs. He was the biggest fan of the Knight Choir and the Las Cruces Bulldawgs. Danny is survived by his father, Danny D. Valdez Sr.; his children, Michael Holguin, Sophia (Michael) Redwine, and Emma Valdez; his grandchildren, Jack Holguin and Julian Redwine; his sister, Veronica (Jason) Doil; his nephew, Garrett Doil; and his former wife, Celia Delgado.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Stella Valdez; his grandparents, Carmen and Enrique Avalos and Lucinda and Carlos Valdez; his three beloved babies, Christopher, Carlos, and Daniel; his step-mom Christine Valdez and his cherished dogs, Brandy and Diesel.
Danny’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the ICU staff at Memorial Medical Center and the kind staff at Mesilla Valley Hospice for
their compassionate care during his final days.

Danny’s life will be celebrated with a rosary and memorial service at 6:00PM on December 5, 2024, at Baca's Funeral Home in Las Cruces. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of this incredible man who touched so many lives.
