Not sure what to say?

Mr. Vander Ark arguably was a major factor in getting my high school career of the road to perdition and directed back to the straight and narrow. It would not be lying to say he changed my life. Thanks, DVA.

Sending my sincere condolences to all of the VDA family as you go through this sad time. Judy, you´re in my thoughts especially as you enter a new chapter of life without Dan. May God´s peace bless you all.

Dan's contribution to the strength and future of Northpointe Christian would be very hard to overstate . He provided a very clear vision for the school while serving the students , teachers and administrators . Dan had passion for Christian education that encouraged everyone involved. I trust our memories of Dan will be a comfort to everyone new and in the days to come.

I was privileged to have to have Dan as part of my extended family, as a cousin and the times I spent on their family's farm in the summer. Oh, the things I learned about a farm that this city gal never knew. Then in high school he was my teacher and then principal and I learned many more beneficial things from him. Then I had the privilege of working under his leadership at CSI in which I learned a whole new set of skills. He was a great teacher to whom I looked up to. I thank God for the...

The Lighthouse Academy Board of Directors and Integrity Educational Services express their condolences to Dan VanderArk and his family. Through his many years of service on the board, Dan shared his K12 school expertise with such humility and grace; His heart for students was so evident! We donated to one of the Christian schools in honor of this great man. He will be missed on this earth but we are certain that he is in his forever home with his savior.

It´s difficult to find the words to truly capture the impact DVA had on all who were blessed to know him. He wasn´t just a father to Carmen, Julie, Brent and Jon; he was a guiding light, a warm presence, and a source of wisdom and strength for everyone around him. DVA´s unwavering love for God and his family was an inspiration. He welcomed me as one of his own and shared countless valuable lessons that will stay with me forever. Miraculously, I was able enjoy a social relationship with DVA...

Know there are many near and far sending love to you during this time of grief and adjustment! May the love of God and all your special memories help you cope. Remembering you and Dan today and always.

My deepest sympathy on the loss of this amazing man. Mr. Vander Ark was my favorite teacher at Holland Christian. Much later I became a teacher myself. I would often run into him at CEA conventions; he always had time to chat for a few minutes. When he was with CSI I had other opportunities to see him again. I admire him greatly. I am sure he was an inspiration to many others besides me. May the Lord comfort your family. Deb (Wyngarden) Vanderwoude
