Not sure what to say?

I love this picture of Mr. Vilmanyi. It is so him with his happy personality. Even if he was grumpy with all the noise we made he still had a smile.
My one memory is:
We were all in the house and Mrs. V was in kitchen labeling her canned goods by date, (learned that and how to clean celery from her), Mr. V walks in and says on the phone to someone, "it's like I live on a golfcourse, one putter and all holes". Mrs. V hit him and said to stop while she laughed.

I don't know what to say really. He was my daddy, my popster, my fishing partner, my travel partner, up for any adventure or good time. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh. The songster of made up words to familiar songs. A lovely tenor, his voice got quavery as he aged, but if he was singing about something, you knew he was feeling good. Well read and traveled, he enjoyed watching his history and travel channels, which would usually start off a bunch of reminiscing stories on his...

Doreen and family,
I was so sorry to hear of your fathers passing. When I was little up at the cabins, he was always so nice to all us kids. No words can fill up for for the sorrow that you are all facing right now. He was and will remain eternal in the hearts of all the peoples lives he touched. I was glad I got to attend his beautiful memorial service.
Stay strong, he and your sweet mom are together and always with you in your hearts. May his soul Rest In Peace.
Love, Melanie

A good time in our lives has passed, but the memories will be forever. We were neighbors at the river community and always had a good time with Dan, June and family. The best story is the building of the picnic table. Danny was hammering away one weekend morning and I had to see what he was building. So, I walked across the road and he was building a picnic table. I may have helped a little but it was almost done. A nice table with the benches attached to the table. Danny sat down to try it...

We Love you Daddy and miss you - thank you for the wonderful life you shared with us

Daddy's Dream

The patchwork quilt that is Pennsylvania
Becomes so small
As inside the silver bird I soar.
Floating below
Like a beautiful silk scarf,
The green and gold stripes of fields
Some plowed red
Muted by the atmosphere
Shimmering in the noon sun
On this eve of the solstice.

Brown ribbons of rivers
Wind around the evergreen hills of the Poconos
Images of stealthy, swarthy warriors
With their flint...

Oh Danny Boy,
my words can't express how I feel now that you're gone. My heart is broken. We were together with June and 5 years later I was asked to come back for you. I was so happy and you were as well! We would laugh of butts off! I was never working when I was with you, I was with a dear friend. We shared so much in the 3 months I was with you. I can't believe you're gone. But, you are and I miss you so much.
So, since we sang together many times, I have a song I dedicate to...

Uncle Dan,

The time you, Nick and I spent fishing was special to me.

Sitting around the fire at the cabin with Grandma Barbara telling us we had to take the baby (our first daughter, Charlotte) inside because the eagles would carry her away was a visit to a different world.

Thank You and God Bless You
Joe Miller

Closing time
Hey Dan
don't be a stranger
I think you should
drop by one day
there'll be some goulash
wine and women
and the hungarian gypsies
will play
so don't be late
make no excuses
the party's happening
rain or shine
we want to know
how you are doing
after the closing time.....

Daniel, you always brought a smile to my face. I served you at the Pub for quite some time. I always looked forward to your visits. You were a sweet man and spoke so highly of your family. I hope you are resting peacefully. Xoxo
