Not sure what to say?

To Sandy and family,
I was saddened and surprised to hear of Dan's death. Dan was a rock for me in times of crisis and instability. I appreciated his take on life and he helped me to navigate through some rough times. I am sorry the world lost such a funloving and generous soul. May you relish in your memories . God Bless you all !

I have put off writing this remembrance, as I begin crying every time I start working on it. I originally met Dan in January 1980, as he was my both informal and later formal supervisor in my job as a therapist for southwestern Pennsylvania Youth Alternatives, an agency headquartered in Washington County in the 1970 – 1980s. I say he was both my formal and informal supervisor because I had relied on him so much to figure out how to work a job that required abilities and experience which at...

My dad was one of the most caring, non-judgemental individuals I've ever had the privilege to know. You could call him, feeling hopeless and he would totally change your outlook by the end of the phone call. He had such a gift for relating to people and knowing exactly how to help them. He delighted in his grandchildren and was so enthusiastic about the accomplishments of his children. He made a significant impact on everyone he ever came across. I'm grateful for his taste in music,...

Uncle Dan taught me that the best way to drive is while singing at the top of your lungs, that you should get angry and involved when something is important or chill out if it's not and don't eat the watermelon rinds. I'll miss you, man...

Dan loved making everyone laugh. Sometimes that meant that he was the only one laughing, but those were some of the funniest moments. He inspired me to chase my dreams at all costs and reminded me that anything is possible as long as you put your mind to it. His infectious smile will always be remembered.

Danny was a comet that crossed my path during my youth and his light altered the course of my life. The insight he eventually harnessed to help others in mental distress, Danny wielded brilliantly, if a bit roughly, as a teenager.

Sitting in the third seat in the Walfish station-wagon, Danny would grace whoever was lucky enough to share that backward-looking view of the world, with the lyrics of every Beatles' song written to that point. He appreciated brilliance, but never...
