Dan was such a sweetheart. His jokes always made us smile. Our "Fun With Friends" group will never be the same without him. He will be missed dearly.

Dan was truly a wonderful guy. A true gentleman. I was happy to be associated for many years through our Champaign Rotary Club.

We loved Dan! He always had a kind word, and was such a bright light in this world! We were so lucky to get to know him (and Joanie) when his beautiful daughter Tiernee came into our son David´s life! We will always miss him and will cherish the special moments and super fun times going to movies, out to dinner, awaiting and welcoming new grandchildren into our family.... We are sending our love and prayers to Joanie, Tiernee, Whitney (Andrew) and Elizabeth! Dan will always be in our hearts!

I will treasure his memory...our last phone conversation and his warm hugs. Our Dapper Dan....always so caring and genuine...I'll miss you my friend...until we meet again...love always....Prayers of comforting memories to Joanie and family.

Dear Joanie & family - we graduated with you in 1974 and my sister (Marnell/Marni Baker) most likely graduated with Dan in 1973. So sorry to see this posted today on the Springfield High School Legacy page. Sending our condolences to you and your family. Gayle (Heege)

From a fellow member of the SHS class of 1973, sending profound sympathy to your family in Dan's passing. May cherished memories comfort you now and in the days ahead. With kind regards, Mary Louise Neat Simonelli, Brewster, NY

I am so sorry to hear Dan passed away. He was definatley a good man. I met him at 16 years old when I applied to work at Schnucks in Champaign. He was always interested in how my family and I were doing even after I left to go away to college. He had a genuine care and respect for everyone around him. Joanie, Whitney, Tiernee, and Elizabeth- You and your families are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry to read of Dan's passing. Our paths crossed when he became Store Manager of Schnucks in Savoy (IL).. I held a lot of respect for Dan. He and I shared a mutual interest for resto-modified cars; his interest in American cars and mine in British cars. I know that Dan's passing has already created a void on the lives of many individuals. Rest in peace, Dan. I will see you on the flip side.
