Not sure what to say?

I just heard of Dan´s passing today. My wife and I have such fond memories when we were Associate Pastors in two New Orleans area churches in the early 1970´s. May he rest in peace and may the peace of Christ, which passes all understanding, be with Judy and their children and grand-children.

We knew Dan and Judy at First Presbyterian Church in Lafayette, LA, in the 1980s when Dan was the minister there. We are sad to read the news. My wife and I were newly weds when we joined First Pres and Dan made us feel welcomed, he ministered well to our congregation from the pulpit and otherwise, baptized our daughter, taught us about Presbyterianism, we attended parties together, he taught our congregation Old and New Testament Kerygma classes, and was a fun person to be around. Our...

Dan was our minister at First Presbyterian Church in Lafayette, Louisiana back in the 70's. Everyone loved him and his wife, Judy. He built our Youth Group from the ground up, drawing in the kids and teens of our church with his music, public projects and outings. He inspired my desire to learn how to play guitar. He organized plays that our group presented to the congregation and he and Judy hosted pool-parties at their home. I could go on and on. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing...

Dan was friend and pastor when we lived in Greenville. He baptized two of my children. I remember many conversations with him about faith and Mark Twain, about music and the Desert Fathers. In his ministry he worked faithfully for justice and equality. So many of us are thankful that Dan's ministry touched our lives. I send my love and condolences to Judy, Stephen, Dorothy, Rachel, and their families.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

Single Memorial Tree

On behalf of First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, NC, we offer our sincerest sympathies and give thanks to God for the life and work of Dan, and especially for his faithful service at FPC Greenville from 1986-1994. As a pastor at FPC, Dan left a legacy of love, that people knew he loved them, that God loved them, and they were called to share that love with others. I knew Dan when I worked in Salem Presbytery, and I was respectful of his wisdom. May the peace of Christ be with all...
