Not sure what to say?

Dan, Big D and myself met at Fort Hays Star University. The three of us road tripped amongst many places Kansas and New Mexico. Two years of university life with him. Love you brother. Albuquerque forever

Mr.Woodrell was such a brilliant writer. His writings were great to read, the settings of his writings were different and inviting. Some of his writings were made into movies and they were just as enjoyable. Sincere condolences to the Woodrell family, May God be with you all in your time of loss.

Katie, I am so sorry to hear of Daniel's passing. My heart reaches out to you and Daniel's family. In case you don't remember me right off, I lived at Hearthaven with Madhurii Ma and Shivanii for many years. I have so enjoyed reading the wonderful novels that each of you wrote. I remarried ten years back and now live in Hot Springs, AR. Much Love, Nia Narayanii Ma

Dan Woodrell was the rare gentle soul who could write starkly about violence and other horrors. More personally, with his wife Katie, a close friend and guest over the course of 30 years. Dan's sudden parting leaves a hole in my world, but his contributions to national literature, notably the timeless minor classic "Woe to Live On," will last as long as literate culture may survive among us. Condolences expressed privately.

Safe travels, Maestro. I´ll see you when I get there.

I offer my sincere condolences to the family of Daniel Woodall. May the God of all comfort be with your family during this difficult time.

I send my condolences to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Danny was a giant among southern writers. I met him only once, but he was so kind and so sweet to me. His influence will remain for a long time.
